Orlando, FL – Mabel V. Newhall, 94, a former longtime resident of the Upper Valley, died at her home in Orlando on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
Mabel was born in North Sutton, NH on September 27, 1918 a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Mabel A. (French) Chadwick. Mabel spent most of her life in the Upper Valley working at the Baltic Mill in Enfield and later at Kleen Laundry in Lebanon before moving to Florida with her husband, Donald, in 1989. Mr. Newhall died in 1993.
While in the Upper Valley, Mabel was a past member of the West Lebanon Baptist Church, the local Grange and the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center. In her spare time she loved to crochet, embroider and spend lots of time with her grandchildren. Mabel will be remembered as a very loving and compassionate person.
She was also predeceased by a son Gary in 1972; three brothers Allen, George and Paul Chadwick and two sisters Carroll Noyes and Winifred Shattuck.
She is survived by her step mother Marion Chadwick of Westmoreland, NH; a sons Robert C. Chadwick of Derry, NH and Donald J. Newhall, Jr. of Arkanas; three daughters Pauline Reeves of Orlando, FL and Marjorie Forbes and Mernie M. Poitras both of West Lebanon, NH; a sister Geraldine Howard of Deerfield, NH; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home in Enfield, NH on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Enfield Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 2pm with burial following in the Lakeview Cemetery in Enfield.
