Mr. Ford located on a farm southeast of Seneca, in October 1868 living on the same farm for more than forty years. While actively engaged in farming he pursued his calling, that of an ordained minister of the Primitive Baptist church, holding meetings in his own neighborhood and elsewhere until his affliction deprived him of this privilege. After retiring from the farm he moved to Seneca in 1908 and in 1920 to his late home in Lincoln.

Mr. Ford was born in Allen county Ohio on January 6, 1847 and at time of his death had passed his eighty-first birthday, five months and twenty-eight days. He was first married on August 18, 1868 to Sarah Elizabeth Hunt. To this union, five children were born: Ben F. Ford, Seneca; Mrs. Clara Knauer, Greencastle, Indaina; Mrs. Edith Courter, Wetmore; Mrs.Lulu Richard, Lawrence, Kansas; J. Mason Ford, Lincoln, Nebraska. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Ford, died in Seneca, June 21, 1913 and on November 17, 1915 he was married to Nancy Alice Stevens of York, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife, children, and three step-children, Everett Stevens and Mrs. Vira Priess of York, Nebraska and Shelfy Stevens, Dwight, Nebraska. He leaves also the following brothers and sisters: Benjamin Gillis Ford of Plymouth, Ohio; Mrs. Mary J. Lee of Rushmore, Ohio; Mrs. Amanda Alice Mericle, Madison, Ohio; Mrs. Phoebe Elnorah Mohler of East Cleveland, Ohio; Richard Ford of Seneca; Jonathan M. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Six brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Mr. Ford was a man of sterling character and the esteem in which he was held by his friends was shown in the number of those attending the funeral service at the Lauer Funeral Home. Services had previously been held at the home in Lincoln. Elder George Jones of Knoxville, Iowa was the officiating minister, who spoke of Mr. Ford's life, having served with him in the ministry of the Primitive Baptist church.

Pallbearers were selected by reason of long acquaintance and friendship were \G. R. Gilkerson, Oneida; Edward Mahlert, Wetmore; Joseph Vogel, Walter Sperling, Charles Parnell and Charles Clifton.

The Congregational quartet, Mrs. C. M. Vorhes, Mrs. Ned C. Mathews, Earl F. Goodrich and Clyde Gastin, sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Asleep in Jesus." The interment was made in the Seneca cemetery.
