Ernest Clyde Bailey
82, of Beach City died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at his home. He retired from Union Drawn Steel in Massillon after 32 years of service. Born June 27, 1930 in Glenfork, W.Va., he was a son of the late Henry and Mabel Massey Bailey. Ernie was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary H. "Libby" Bailey on Oct. 22, 2005; sister, Nina Luger; and his brother, Juddy Bailey. Ernie was an Army veteran of the Korean War having served his country during the beginning stages of the conflict. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ernie will be sadly missed by his children, Cindy (Jim) Davidson of Park City, Utah, Lisa (Steve) Sprouse of Tiskilwa, Ill. and Ernest (Debra) Bailey of Lake Dallas, Texas; sisters, Dorothy Simmons of Beckley, W.Va. and Eunice (Vernon) Quantz of Covington, Va.; brother, Ray Bailey of Covington; seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
