He does not appear to have been captured at Union City. He applied for an invalid pension in 1891 while living in Utah. His widow, Mary J Allen, received pension, also in Utah. He died on 9/9/1897 and is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah.
