Francis Little was a school teacher, a weaver, and he collected tithes for the church (Episcopal). All nine of his children left Ireland and came to the United States. The last of his children to leave Ireland (in 1863) was his daughter Lucinda married to Wm Bleakly. Among the family treasures which she brought was a book (handwritten in 1824) which was Francis's guide for organizing and conducting his classes in the parish school of the Episcopal Church of Aghadrumsee. After being in the Bleakly family for two generations, it became the property of Dr. Milburn Little, who, like his ancestor, made teaching his life's work. Upon his death, his widow presented it to Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, with the stipulation that descendants of Francis Little be permitted to view the book upon request and identifying themselves. The book is in the Ethnic Heritage Collection in the Forsyth Library along with "A Kansas Farmer" by Francis Thomas Little, his grandson. Francis died of apppendicitis and is buried a few rods from the church door.
