ROCKSPRING Bertha "Boots " McClure, 96, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at her residence. She was born Dec. 22, 1915, and the oldest living member of the Peavine Baptist Church for the past 83 years where she taught Sunday School in the Pre-School for many years. Mrs. McClure was preceded in death by her husband, Dan McClure; parents, Felton and Georgia Williams Cooper; brothers, Eugene, Charlie, Frank, Vance, and Clint Cooper; sisters, Cora Cooper, Bessie Weaver, and Frances Carlock. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Ronald Pierce, Danette and Johnny Mullinax, Rock Spring, and Linda and George Perkins, Dalton; four grandchildren, George E. Perkins, Melanie Penson, Mindy and Jesse Mullinax; four great-grandchildren, Brent, Holly, Trey and Megan; four great-great-grandchildren, Reagan, Ryleigh, Lawsen and Bryn, several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, JoAnn McClure. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Denny Patrick, Rev. Chris Cooper, and Rev. Patrick Cooper officiating.
