She had gone to visit with her sister, Miss May Newcomer, at the Hilleary home on Monday. She had been in failing health for many years, and on Tuesday morning was taken critically ill.
Miss Newcomer was born on the Newcomer homestead near Smithsburg, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah S. Beard Newcomer and had lived her entire life there.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church at Leitersburg and the Missionary Society and Women's Bible Class of the church.
Surviving are these brothers and sisters: Keller, Elkton, Md.; Mrs. Robert Bruce, Wilmington, Delaware; Herbert, Washington; Miss May, Charles Town; Miss Blanche Miss Nellie and Luther, at home.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, in charge of the Rev. I. D. Worman. Burial will be in the Leitersburg Lutheran Cemetery.
