NEWPORT NEWS – Command Sgt. Maj. Henderson Clawson Bayne Jr., 60, of 145 Racine Drive, died Thursday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Hampton. He was born in Blawnox, Pa., and had been a local resident for 20 years. He retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was also a member of Fort Eustis Retirement Council and a member of the Real Estate Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Toni W. Bayne; a daughter, Mrs. Denise B. Holly of Newport News; a son, Henney C. Bayne of Oakmont, Pa.; his mother, Mrs. Bertha O. Bayne of Oakmont, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Orbin of Oakmont, Pa., and Mrs. Patricia Parker of Glenshaw, Pa.; a brother, Clyde N. Bayne of Indiana; and two grandchildren. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Peninsula Memorial Park by a Fort Eustis Protestant chaplain. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Weymouth Funeral Home.
