E.H. Ames Jr. was born in Blanchard, Okla., Feb. 24, 1933, the fourth child of Edgar and Mildred Puckett Ames. During his youth, the family moved to Fox and Aledo communities. On Nov. 14, 1952, he and Harvalene Linthicum were married . After 42 years of service he retired from Texas Utilities. E.H. was a veteran of the Korean War, a mason and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Aledo. Thoroughout his life he served in many capacities of Christian work and various civic roles within his community.
Survivors include his wife, Harvalene; daughters, Kathy Pettit and Cheryl West and husband, Dan; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.
