Born in stagestop town of Clye, Colo., along Gold Camp Road east of Victor. At age 11, lost her mother (Minnie Meyers) in 1926. Lived most of girlhood at "Camp" with her father and nine siblings -- no running water, no electricity. Camp was in the prettiest mountain valley on the south side of Pikes Peak. Married J. Wayne Hobden 1934, had six children.
