MARY W. PRENTISS
Summer Visitor Died Sunday at Putnam Memorial Hospital
Miss Minnie Prentiss passed away on Sunday evening at the Putnam Memorial hospital of Bennington and the funeral services will take place at Dorset probably on Tuesday afternoon.
Miss Prentiss was spending the summer at the home of her friends, Mrs. W.B. Sheldon. She was taken seriously ill about ten days ago and it was thought best to remove her to the hospital for the skilled treatment which proved to no avail.
She was the daughter of the late Reverend Doctor George L. Prentiss of the Union Theological Seminary of New York, and her mother, Elizabeth Prentiss will be remembered as a hymn writer and as the author of the book entitled "Stepping Heavenward."
Miss Prentiss, in her short stay in Bennington, by her lovely character, has endeared herself to all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.
