OLIVEBRIDGE:
Jack A. Davis, 56, a logger, drywall mason, heavy equipment operator and owner of Stonewall Jack and Son in Olivebridge, died on Tuesday, Nov 18, 2008, at Stratton Veterans Hospital in Albany.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-74 and was stationed in Korea.
A resident of Olivebridge for 25 years, he was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Born June 15, 1952, in Margaretville, he was the son of Carl and Shirley Davis.
Survivors in addition to his parents of Jacksonville, Fla., include his wife Patricia, whom he married on July 29, 1972; two sons, Jack Jr. of Olivebridge and Christopher of Kingston; a daughter, Evonne of New York City; eight brothers, Carl Jr., Thomas, Richard, Tim, Paul, James, Joe, and Mark; a sister, Bette Duganitz; five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Bobby Davis, died previously.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Margaretville with the Very Rev. James J. McDevitt officiating. Burial will be in Shavertown Cemetery, Andes. Arrangements by Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
