Florence Lucy Coleman Chittum, 85, formerly of Buena Vista, died Sunday in a Salem nursing home. She was the widow of Robert A. Chittum. Mrs. Chittum was born April 14, 1897, in Amherst County.
She is survived by one son, Harold L. Chittum of Buena Vista; one sister, Mrs. Annie Montgomery, also of Buena Vista; one brother, Roy K. Coleman of Fairfax; three grandchildren and two step grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
The Rev. William Sorrells and the Rev. Alvin Coleman officiated at the funeral held today at Lomax Funeral Home. Burial was in the Green Hill Cemetery.
