Mr. Adams was a Washington County, TN, native, and the son of the late Wiley and Mollie Adams. He retired from Cantley-Ellis Manufacturing Company after more than 30 years of service. Mr. Adams was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a military policeman in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Mr. Adams was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, and fishing. He also enjoyed NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Maxine Adams, in 2003; several brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his son, Ken Adams; daughter, Lisa Kind; granddaughters: Maddie Kind, Kelsey Kind and Kyndal Kind; son-in-law, Dr. Richard Kind, sister, Emma Lee Scott; sisters-in-law: Lucy and Bobbi Adams, Lola Ebarb and husband, Joe, Betty Durham and husband, Don, and Linda McNees and husband, David; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Strong, officiating.
Burial will follow with Military Honors in East Lawn Memorial Park.
