Ardythe Faye Ford, 83, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Taylor House in Des Moines, IA. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
Ardythe was born on June 24, 1928 on the family farm in Alpha, MN. She was the daughter of Ralph L. Denney and Vivian (Ramsey) Denney. She attended grade school in Alpha, high school in Jackson, MN, and then went on to become a nurse. She was later employed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Jackson, MN.
On December 24, 1957, Ardythe was united in marriage to Marvin W. Ford. To this union two daughters, Vivian and Sherri were born. The family made their home in Des Moines. Ardythe was employed at Valley View Village for 30 years; in the early years as a nurse and later as the activities director. Ardythe dearly loved her family and friends. She and Marvin retired and lived in the Manor at Valley View Village where they were very active
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri (Rick) Butler and Vivian (Merle) Herren; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Darrell Denney. Preceding her in death is her husband, Marvin; her parents; and two baby sisters.
