PFC. ANDERSON'S BODY ARRIVES On THURSDAY - Reburial Services for Soldier Will Be Held Sunday
The body of PFC. EUGENE A. ANDERSON, Infantry, who died at the age of 29 from acute pharyngitis, in the North Africa area, on August 28, 1943, arrived in this city Thursday evening.
The remains were taken to the Leaf funeral chapel where they will rest until time of funeral service Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The American Legion will conduct the military portion of the service at the Church of God in Williamsport, with Rev. William Morris officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery.
Son of the late Thomas Allen and Daisy Anderson, formerly of Williamsport, Pfc. Anderson is survived by the following sisters: Mrs. Lusy Hanna, Mrs. Arley V. Crist, Mrs. Vincent Helmintaller and Mrs. Walter Tracey, all of Williamsport, and Mrs. Mary Bienard, of Hagerstown. Also surviving are brothers, William Max, John Thomas, Richard and Elwood, all of Williamsport; Edward, Hagerstown, and Russell, of California.
