YORK Perry R. Newcomer, 89, of York, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at Manor Care Kingston Court. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Newcomer was born June 29, 1906, in Craley. He was the son of the late Solomon and Emma (Wallace) Newcomer. He was a welder for York Shipley Co., retiring in 1974 with more than 20 years of service. Prior to that, he worked at Bethlehem Steel's Sparrows Point Shipyard in Baltimore. Mr. Newcomer is survived by a son, Larry R. Newcomer of York; a daughter, Linda K. Reck of York; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Newcomer was preceded in death by a son, Ronald R. Newcomer. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Joseph N. Yorks, pastor of Ebenezer United Methodist Church of Long Level. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 5020 Ritter Road, Mechanicsburg 17055. 12-12-95
