UNION, WV – 2 Timothy 4:7 – "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." – Jackie David Miller age 78 of Union, WV went to meet his Savior, December 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born June 28, 1934 at Wikel, WV he was the son of the late Addison and Mary Vest Miller. Jackie had retired from the WV Department of Highways, worked as a painter and was an artist. Jackie was a faithful member of the Rock Camp Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was passionate about his music and artwork. He sang folk music and played many different instruments, but his favorite was the harmonica. He created pen and ink landscape scenes, which were displayed in the Union Library. Jackie loved animals, especially his faithful dogs. He gave faithfully to charities, with his favorite being St. Jude Children's Hospital. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, raising his children in a Christian home. He passed down the principals of Christ to the next generation. Grandpa Jack loved his grandchildren and had a special place in his heart for each of them. Although Jackie's journey in life has come to an end, we celebrate knowing that his eternal life has just begun and his loved ones will be reunited with him shortly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Harold Miller.
