Frank L. Spetich "Frankie" passed away December 4, 2012 at Summa Barberton Hospital after a brief illness. He was 88 years old.

He was a lifetime resident of Barberton, OH. For the past 60 years he assumed the role of "Barberton's Polka King" as well as that of musician, bandleader, entertainer, songwriter, radio personality, teacher and promoter of his beloved Slovenian heritage. He touched many people throughout the world through his music, having recorded over 16 CD's and 9 albums. In 1999, he received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame.

Frankie also served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, children, Russ & Shelley Lee, Canal Fulton, OH, Sally & Jack Simonds, Uniontown, OH, Becki & David Haller, Louisville, OH, Peggy & J.B. Brosdahl of Ramsey, MN, Andy & Sharon Lee, Zimmerman, MN, Michael & Debbie Spetich, Canton, OH, Judy & Pat Pramik, Barberton, OH, and Frank & Colleen Spetich, Barberton, OH.; 16 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
