Fred lived most of his life in Seneca. He started his career in Seneca in freight and the coal business. In 1945 he built and operate the Seneca locker plant and later he was co-owner of the Seneca Super Market. He was active in the community. He was on the Seneca City Council for several years, member of Seneca School Board, and a volunteer fireman.
Fred married Lizzie on Christmas Day 1917 and had 5 children. Fred had a reputation of chasing women. His marriage with Lizzie was not a good one. They were estranged for many years but they stuck it out for the children. (Source his son Dale Doner).
Sometime after 1940 the widow Delpha Wale with 6 children moved to Seneca. It is not known how they met but Seneca is a small town. A friendship was kindled whether out of need or romance or both in 1942 a child was born. The relationship must have been amenable. Out of all of the possible names she could have chosen, she named the child after his father.
Freddie Doner lived out his life in Seneca with Lizzie. The relationship was never good and it declined with age. All indication were he lived up to his reputation. His son agreed to a DNA test. The son was not surprised when the DNA test came back positive and he got a new brother much to the dismay and resentment of his family.
