JIMMIE FAYE LESTER METCALF
Jimmie Faye Lester Metcalf, 70, died Monday, October 22,2001, at Daniel Health Care Center in Fulton, Mississippi. She was born in Vardamn, Mississippi and lived for 43 years in Western North Carolina. She worked for Dr. Edward Isbee Jr. retiring in 1993. She was a member of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church in Candler, N.C. for about 35 years. She attended Open Door Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Jimmie Faye Lester Metcalf (1931-2001) was the daughter of Jacob Monroe Lester (1893-1961) & Ollie Dee Dunn Lester (1903-2000). She was the wife of William Wayne Metcalf Sr. (1927-1974). They were married on April 23, 1949. They were married for 25 years when Dad had a massive heart attack in 1974 and died. His death was sudden and the family suffered much grief, Mother especially.
She was the mother of four children - William Wayne Metcalf Jr. & Patricia Ann Metcalf Brendle & Barry Dale Metcalf & Mark Kane Metcalf. She was the Grandmother of David Wayne Metcalf & Tara Ann Metcalf Pressley & Jesse Nathan Metcalf & Jacob Monroe Metcalf & Melinda Brendle Gregory. She was Great Grandmother to Jacob Allen Pressley & James Nicholas Pressley.
A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home with Brother Frank Cayson officiating. She was carried to Groce Funeral Home in Asheville, North Carolina where the family received friends on Friday, October 25, 2001. A Memorial Service was conducted by her former Pastor, Roy Houston and her former neighbor, Rev. Charles Sprinkle.
