Mr. Coverdale had been a dairy and grain farmer for over 30 years off of Boyds Corner Road near Middletown. He retired from farming in 1976. He was a past chairman of ASCS, a member of the Farm Bureau, the Bethesda United Methodist Church in Middletown, and he was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Blanche Coleman Coverdale; two daughters, Betty Ann Sinex, of Townsend, and Alice M. Warmouth, of Milford; one son, Walter L. Coverdale, of Neleland, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy Burris and her husband Jason Truver, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Coverdale reside with, Mark Burris, Jimmy Sinex; and additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Homes, Middletown. Interment was in the Forest Cemetery in Middletown.
