A caring and loving father, and doting grandfather, John ("Lieutenant" as affectionately referred to by some family members) enjoyed spending time with his youngest daughter Laura, a scholarship softball player at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR; golfing with Johnny Ray and the guys at Ravenwood; visiting with his mother Mamie; playing X-Box with Jon Franklin; talking to Jim and Tracy on the phone, often several times a day; swimming in his pool with son John, his wife Amanda, and grandsons Preston and Brandon; and discussing the latest trends in technology with son-in-law Jon. John recently talked about how proud he was of the caring and generous nature of church-goers at the Brentwood Hills Church of Christ, where he directed traffic on Sundays.
