Staff Sergeant Wilson died of wounds he received in hostile action in Quang Nam, South Vietnam, on January 5, 1970, while serving in L Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Prior to his service in Vietnam, he served as a Marine Recruiter in Odessa. Survived by his wife, Sumitar Mansi. Recipient of the Bronze Star with "V" device, Purple Heart (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
