Last rites for Jason B. White of Decatur were held at the Trinity Lutheran church Monday, January 9, at 2:00 P.M
A short prayer service was held at the home at 1:30 for the immediate family, relatives, and friends. The Rev. J.G. Wemer conducted the service.
Gene French sang the "Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend we have in Jesus," he was accompanied by Kelly French.
Burial was in the Decatur cemetery.
Pallbearers were Victor Larson, Ross McCluskey, John Beard, Elmer Busse, Lloyd Richards, and Roy Tippery.
Jason Baird White, son of Albert and Mary (Baird) White, was born December 12, 1876, near Decatur, Nebraska. He was the third of four children.
Mr. white was a graduate of Decatur High School and of the Law Department at the Nebraska State University, with the class of 1900.
He was married at Decatur, Nebraska, March 1, 1905, to Miss Clara Woodrich. To the Union two sons were born, Paul A and Clare, who died in infancy. Mrs. White passed away in 1908.
On September 16, 1925, Mr. White was married to Miss Grace Sawyers at Sioux City, Iowa. To this union a daughter, Margaret Edith was born.
Mr. White was born and reared on the same Burt County farm near Decatur, and he lived there all his life.
Mr. White passed away on Friday, January 6, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska; at the age of 77 years and 24 days. Survivors are his wife, Grace; son Paul A. of Decatur; daughter Mrs. Carol Russell of Lyons; two grandchildren, Kent, and Kathy Russell; two foster daughters, Mrs. Lynn Dimmick of Decatur, and Mrs. Richard Lehl of Portland Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Cassa Quinn of Omaha, and Mrs. Jessie Calnon of Meridan, Idaho and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
