Helen worked for the Yakima School district as a teacher's aide for over 20 years. Helen was a long time member of the Free Methodist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for so many years. Helen was highly active with the PTA and while working for the school district she obtained her GED with great pride. Helen retired from the school district to care for her husband after his retirement in 1972. After retirement Helen enjoyed crocheting, traveling, playing board and card games, and enjoying her cherished family and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Larson; brother, Loyd House; sister, Ada Cooper all of Yakima; daughter, Margie (Woodie) Doucette of Prosser; grandsons, Curtis Woodie of Hermiston, Oregon and Steve Thomlinson of Fresno, California.
Helen is survived by her children, Cliff and Denise Larson of Walla Walla, Dale and Ellen Maygra of Selah, Al and Vera Hawthorne of Fallbrook, California, West and MaryAnn Westbury of Fresno, California. Helen is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Oscar and Velma Funk of Yakima; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The families wish to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Riverview Manor's Nurses and staff for their wonderful care of Helen for the past ten years. We love you all!
