He is survived by his wife of 64 years Jeanette R. Dickson, son Douglas J. Dickson, Leavenworth, KS and daughter, Stacey McVey and husband Mark, Overland Park, KS, his sister, Betty Spiewak, Lawrence, KS, four grandchildren Douglas A. Dickson, David W. Dickson, Emily J. McVey and Molly P. McVey and one great grandchild Elijah A. Dickson. He was preceded in death by his sister, LaVeta Frye.
He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. Following his military service he went into construction with his father and they formed their own company. He later worked for Kaaz Construction Co and Falkenberg construction companies until he retired.
He was a Mason and 60 year member of the King Solomon Lodge # 10, charter member of Henry Leavenworth Antique Auto Club and member of the First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Davis Funeral Chapel, followed by a burial at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church.
