Obituary: The Press-Enterprise (Riverside, California), Hemet News Edition, Wed. May 24, 2000, p.HN:5. Orville Dennis Gloyd, 86, died Sunday at his Hemet home. The cause of death is undetermined pending a doctor's report. No services are planned. Interment will be in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. The Cremation Society of Riverside County in Hemet is handling arrangements. Mr. Gloyd, who was born in Lytton, Iowa, lived in Hemet 17 years. He was a grocer who managed a Safeway for 17 years in Centralia, W.V., and later owned his own store. He enjoyed golf, pool, shuffleboard, fishing and traveling with his wife, Frieda, in their cabin cruiser in the San Juan Islands and in their 5th wheel throughout the U.S. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gloyd is survived by a daughter, Patricia of West Virginia, and a sister, Carol Cavenaugh of Virginia.
