Funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. A.E. "Ed" Brewer, age 65 of Gadsden who passed away Monday-March 12, 2007. Rev. Chris Gaskin and Rev. Carles Putman will officiate with eulogy given by Ray Harris. Burial at Rainbow Memorial Park. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Ed was a native and longtime resident of Etowah County and of the Baptist Faith last attending Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving two consecutive terms in active combat during the Vietnam War and received many honorable metals. He was a mechanic by trade having worked his last mechanic job at the City of Gadsden and finally retiring from The Anniston Army Depot. He also delivered the Gadsden Times in the Camp Sibert/Attalla area for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eloise Moore Brewer, sister, Elsie Shook, grandson, Randy Ray Collins and a special nephew, Johnny Patterson.

He is survived by his wife: Ollie Mae Allen Brewer

Randy (Karen) Collins, Rainbow City

Keith A. Collins, Gadsden

Daughter; Cynthia Brewer Engardio,Tazewell, Virginia

Aunts: Jewell Johns, Cullman, Carolyn Williams, Knoxville, TN, Alene Fortenberry, Cullman and Grethel Brewer, Gadsden

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Collins, Leon, Roger and Rex Asherbranner, Chris England, Jim Davis, Brian Dillard, and Brian Gunnells.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Collier-Butler Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Home Health Care, especially Lisa, Vickie, Amber, Darryl and Casey for all your care. Dr. K.J. Shah, Dr. Sinha and Mr. Thomas Rosenburger for your kind assistance .

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home and for one hour prior to services on Thursday.
