Iduma Elam was born in Laurel county, Kentucky, Feb 4, 1851. In the Fall of 1869 she was united in marriage to John W. Monroe, and moved to Crawford county, Illinois. In 1884 they moved to Wilson county, Kansas. They lived the rest of their lives in this community. The husband died two years ago.
She is survived by her aged father who lives in Kentucky, and a brother R. E. Elam, of Winfield, Kansas. Mrs. J. H. Monroe, of this city, is a cousin.
Mrs. Monroe finished a noble, Christian life. She will be missed by her many friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Monroe Holiness Chapel today (Thursday) at 1:30 conducted by Mrs. Rainey, and interment will be made in the Neodesha cemetery.
