Gary was the only child born to Herbert and Adeline Bohlman. Gary worked many years as a computer engineer and designer and as an engineering consultant. He attended Wartburg Seminary in Iowa and served as an intern at St. John Lutheran church in Owatonna. He enjoyed being with his children and wife, playing guitar, boating, and skiing. He loved God's Word and studying Greek to better understand it. He also wrote an exposition on Paul's letter to the Galatians. He was very good at working with and understanding the Youth and the Older members of the churches attended.
Even when cancer struck him, he kept on working and caring for his family. As he got weaker, his friends and co-workers rallied around him and finished the addition on the house that Gary had started.
There was a single rose on the casket because, as Gary said, "there is only one true love - God's love."
