Colby Maxine Kennedy, 91, of Stillwater, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Stillwater. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater, with Dr. Norman Richmond officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 17, 1916, in Noble County, to Elmer M. McCray and Etta (Gooch) McCray. She married R.W. Kennedy April 25, 1941, in Cleveland. The couple were later divorced.
She retired from Oklahoma State University as a food service supervisor after a 25-year career. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She liked to quilt and sew and enjoyed traveling and canoeing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Onita King and an infant sister and one nephew, Bob King.
She is survived by one son, Jimmie D. Kennedy and his wife, Isabel, of Fairfield, Calif.; four grandchildren, Colleen Dodge and her husband, Andy, of Acton, Calif., Jim Kennedy and his wife, Mary, of Phelan, Calif., Scott Kennedy of Chatsworth, Calif. and Craig Kennedy of Chatsworth; five great-grandchildren, three nieces, Anita Jo Cawley of Oklahoma City, Patsy Nichols and her husband, Raymond, of Stillwater and Betty Jones and her husband, Don, of Tulsa; one niece-in-law, Jackie King of Owasso and numerous great nieces and nephews.
