Valeria Hale Fisher, 91, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington.
She was born in Pender County, NC, September 24, 1921, daughter of C.H. Clark and Elizabeth Hale Clark.
Surviving is her husband of sixty-one years, Donald Willson Fisher; children, Edward T. Houghton and wife Lisa , Zack Fisher and wife Sandra all of Atlanta, Mary Honbarrier and husband Reggie of Wilmington; a grandson, Christopher T. Houghton; great-grandchildren, Mattson and Anna Houghton; and three sisters, Betty Hall, Lee Eakes, and Susan White. Also remembered is her canine pal, Millie.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had done volunteer work with New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Carolina Yacht Club at Wrightsville Beach and a past member of the Garden Club. Cooking, working in her yard and flower beds and spending time at their cottage at Wrightsville Beach were some of her favorite pastimes. She is remembered as a very devoted and loving wife and mother.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with Dr. Ernest T. Thompson, III officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington.
