SILER CITY Franklin Dwight Williams, 77, died Sunday Oct. 16, 2011 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
He was born Feb. 16, 1934 in Liberty, the son of George Wesley and Fleta (Edwards) Williams. He worked with Durham and Southland Life Insurance companies as an agent. He had also owned and operated Bills Grill in Siler City. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by one son, Greg Williams and wife Christine of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Mary Frances Thacker of Graham; one brother, Cecil Williams of Pleasant Garden; eight grandchildren; and his companion, Geneva Williams of Siler City.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Joe Brady officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard and Masonic rites by the Liberty Lodge # 714.
