DUNCAN, AMY JOSEPHINE ADAMS - age 51 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Tennova Residential Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Amy's legacy is that of love and nurturing; she was a devoted mother, wife and dedicated nurse who had a talent for comforting those she loved and those who were placed in her professional care. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Monroe Everett and Mary Weigel Adams; grandson, Baine Alexander Mixon, and father-in-law, Alvin Millard Duncan.

Amy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alvin Richard Duncan; daughters: Abigail Mixon (Sabata), and Sara Duncan; son, Aaron Duncan; grandchildren: Maya Tajen, Lyly Mixon, Cayden Duncan, Addison Duncan and Andrew Duncan; sisters: Christine Adams of Phoenix, Arizona, and Lucy Adams Ellison of Knoxville; brothers: Fred Adams (Denise) of Knoxville, and Andrew Adams (Kristi) of Silver Spring Maryland; mother-in-law, Mae Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral on Thursday, December 13, 10:00 a.m. The interment service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2012, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation in Amy's memory. On-line condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com.
