Severely wounded at Antietam--minie ball wrist joint & right thigh, ball entered left side passed through scrotum between his testicles & into upper thigh, struck spoon & pocket comb carried in breeches pocket & was cut out of right buttocks. No 4 United States ArmyGeneral Hospital Frederick Maryland. Discharged Frederick 11-17-62 wounds: thigh useless for long period, wrist motion destroyed. Died Bedford Indiana 5-4-1900
