Mrs. A. L. Wendt
VAN DYNE – Mrs. Amanda L. Wendt, 74, of Van Dyne, died this morning at 1 o'clock at St. Agnes Hospital.
She was born Nov. 3, 1887 in Manitowoc and married John E. Wendt on May 25, 1921 at Poy Sippi. They lived there for 14 years and then farmed in the Van Dyne area until 1955 when they moved to Van Dyne.
Surviving are her husband and eight children: Clarence, Oshkosh; Harold, Van Dyne; Mrs. Herbert Longston, Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Donald Patterson, Milwaukee; M. Sgt. Alvin, Kelly AFB, Texas; Robert and Freeland, Rt. 1, Van Dyne and William, Lonexa, Va; 27 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Schneider, Appleton.
Friends may call at the Candlish Chapel, Fond du Lac, after 2 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m., at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Van Dyne where the deceased was a member. The Rev. W. Weissgerber will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon.
