THOMAS S. FINNEGAN

Thomas S. Finnegan, 77, of Amherst died Friday in Elyria Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Cleveland and was a resident of Amherst nearly all his life.

He was a retired hardware manager. He was a charter member the Amherst Rotary Club and a member of the Senior Citizens Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Amherst. He also belonged to the Hardware Association and the Lions Club and he was a retired treasurer of the Amherst Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ethel (nee Foldesy); a daughter, Mrs. Stephan (Kathleen) Kosash; a son, Thomas H., of Michigan; sisters Corinne Finnegan of Zephyrhills, Fla. and Sister Josita of the St. Augustine Convent in Richfield; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Garland Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave. in Amherst Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Amherst with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Contributions, if desired, may be made to the kidney unit of Elyria Memorial Hospital.
