This link takes you to the Douglas Register and on page 335 is "on 18 Dec 1761, Rev William Douglas recorded that he preached Dr. Chastain's funeral sermon in Manakintown of I Cor: 15: 54". This is also annotated in the 'Pierre Chastain and His Descendants" Volume I, page 10. So his exact date of death isn't known, but had to be before 18 Dec 1761 when his funeral occurred.
