Jane Alder Mangum

Our loving mother and wife Jane Alder Mangum, 67, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, from heart failure. Jane was born at her home in Midway, Utah, May 20, 1939, the daughter of Burton & Margaret Alder. She graduated from Wasatch High School, Heber, Utah, in 1957. She married Fred "Tony" Mangum on September 24, 1957, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jane was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Primary and Sunday School teacher and in Relief Society as a compassionate service leader which gave her many opportunities to bless the lives of others.

Jane was known for her generosity and constant concern for others. No one ever left her home without receiving more than they arrived with. She lived for others and her family and friends were greatly blessed by receiving her love and care. All who knew her have felt the blessings of her generous spirit and she was greatly loved and will truly be missed.

Jane is survived by her husband, Tony, her siblings, Inez Wilde, Mary (Jerry) Walton, Burton (Sheri) Alder, her children, Norma (Brian) Thayne, Bill (Carolyn) Mangum, Paul (Anne) Mangum, Natalie (Chris) West, 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Orem 1st Ward Chapel, 80 South 280 East, Orem, Utah. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will be held in the Midway City Cemetery.
