Goldie M. Brewer, 91, of Joplin, died at 2:48 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, at National Healthcare. Goldie was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Joplin to George W. and Rosalee (Riley) Ackerson. She was a homemaker. She was formerly employed by Clean Coverall of Joplin. She was a member of the Lone Elm Pentecostal Church. She married John E. Brewer on Oct. 29, 1932, in Joplin. He died in 1978. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby E. Brewer and Roger Brewer. She is survived by three sons, Fred L. Brewer, of Claremore, Okla., and Donald G. Brewer and Gary Brewer, both of Joplin; two sisters, Sylvia Campbell and Julia M. Sherman, both of Joplin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park Cemetery, Rev. J. C. “Buddy” Walker will officiate. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
