George Larry Barnes, 81, of Rogers died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at his home.
He was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Black Oak, Ark., to George Frank and Edna Drew Thorpe Barnes.

George was honorably discharged after serving three enlistments in the Air Force. He then proudly served as a policeman in Arizona for several years before starting his career as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Allie Barnes in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Barnes of the home; four children, Tommie Paricos of Elkins, Charlotte Cunningham and husband, Allen, of Highfill, Larry Barnes and wife, Kathy, of Highfill, Susan Gayer of Checotah, Okla.; two stepsons, Dallas Ratliff of Savannah, Ga., Tommy Jack Ratliff of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Trevor and Amanda McKinley.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, with Pastor Dane Anglin officiating.
