Died, on last Friday evening, March 11, at the residence of Mrs.
T. A. Fairchild, Miss Louisa Hemingway, aged 74 years, 8 months and 11 days. The cause of her death was heart failure .... The body ... accompanied by her nieces, Mrs. T. A. Fairchild and Miss Bertha M. Havens, was taken to New Haven, Connecticut, for burial in the cemetery where rests her father and mother. Louisa Hemingway was born in New Haven, Conn., June 30, 1817, and resided in that city and vacinity and Brooklyn, N.Y., the great part of her life. For many years she made her home with the Rev. D. W. Haven, her brother-inlaw, and when he and his family came to Kansas, she followed a year later, and for the past twelve years has been a resident of Holton. After the breaking up of the home of Rev. Havens, of this place, she made her home with her niece, Mrs. T. A. Fairchild. Aunt Elsie, as she was called ....
