Mrs. Ida Maxson Zellers, 97 of the Lutheran Home passed away there Wednesday night, March 16, 1978.

Ida Zellers was born in Dallas County, Iowa March 25, 1880, the daughter of the Nathan Myers family and lived for many years in the Panther neighborhood. She was married to Roy Maxson, and moved to a farm east of Adel, Iowa. It was there that Roy was killed in a tragic accident and Ida was left to raise three children, Fay, Glen and Clarence. She was a most courageous mother and carried on for many years, doing so alone.

She was married to Benton Zellers, a Brother-in-law, the husband of her elder sister who had passed away many years before.

Ida was a member of First Christian Church in Adel, and past matron of the Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Glen Gardner, of Des Moines, Iowa, two step daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Zellers and Mrs. Helen Zellers both of Redfield, Iowa; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
