OBITUARY OF HELEN GALLUCCI

Helen (DiMauro) GALLUCCI, 88, formerly of Hartford and Newington, passed away peacefully on Monday (December 10, 2012) at Maple View Manor with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Julius "Johnny Duke" GALLUCCI. Helen was born April 22, 1924 in Hartford to the late Vincenzo and Amelia (LaMonica) DiMAURO. Helen had a selfless nature and always put others before herself. She was a kind, compassionate woman who was know for her witty sense of humor as well as her ability to bring genuine happiness to others. She was happiest while cooking for a large table of family and friends or laughing with her sisters over a game of cards. Helen especially enjoyed spending summers at the beach with her family and never passed up a trip to the casino. Helen is survived by her three devoted daughters: Diana GUERRERA and husband David, Nancy GALLUCCI and husband James MULLINS, and Helen KRAWIEC and husband Edward Jr.; her grandchildren: Sean KALLAUGHER and wife Michelle, Jaclyn KRAWIEC; and great-granddaughter, Sydney KALLAUGHER. Helen also leaves her brother, Sebastian DiMAURO and wife Josephine; and her sister-in-law, Doris GALE; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary PARENTO, Jenny "Zina" ROLLINS and Norena CARDELL. Helen's family would like to thank the staff at Maple View Manor for their care and compassion.

Funeral Service will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
