SHREWSBURY - John "Tyler" Kiser , 90, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Glen Rock, died at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Esther R. (Buchanan) Kiser .
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. Burial will be in Giesey Memorial Cemetery in Shrewsbury. Viewing will be 9:30 to 11 am. Saturday at the mortuary.
Mr. Kiser was born Jan. 31, 1908, in Hazelton, Va. He was the son of the late Archibald and Hattie Kiser .
He was a cabinet maker and carpenter for many years. He was a founding member of Turnpike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury.
Mr. Kiser is survived by two sons, Hank "Harold" L. Kiser of Richmond, Va., and Bradley J. Kiser of Alexandria, Va..; a daughter, M. Ruth Grove of Shrewsbury; three brothers, Lewis Kiser of York, Earl Kiser of Shrewsbury and Harold Kiser of Glen Rock; and five sisters, Georgie Leedy of York, Alta Mae Klinedinst of Shrewsbury, Lillian Saxton of Baltimore, Ann Gladfelter of Seven Valleys and Thelma Markel of Glen Rock.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. William P. Walker.
