HURLEY, Wis. - Patricia J. "Pat" Skovera, 91, of Ironwood, Mich., died peacefully Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley, surrounded by her loving family.

The former Patricia Grooms was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Sidnaw, Mich., daughter of the late Mark and Beulah (Roxbury) Grooms.

She married Michael A. Skovera and moved to Ironwood in the 1950s where they resided on Pewabic Street for many years. Mike preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1981.

Pat was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration-Episcopal in Ironwood, the Grey Ladies, Ironwood Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Range Duplicate Bridge Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Mark (Linda), Tallahassee, Fla., and stepson, Russell (Carole), Ironwood; daughters, Terry Ruby, Ironwood, Michele Skovera, Burnsville, Minn., and stepdaughter, Patricia (Grover) McLin, Grosse Isle, Mich.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael (Jo Lee) Grooms, Port Angeles, Wash.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters; brothers, William, Mark Jr., John and Thomas Grooms; and sisters, Marjorie Knivila and Norma Ball.

Per Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place.
