Archibald Broadus Bass of Archdale died Wednesday at High Point Regional Hospital. Born January 10, 1922 in Iredell County he is a son of the late Charles Bass, Sr. and Dennie Moore Bass. Mr. Bass served in the US Army during World War II where he fought in five major battles. He worked at Fieldcrest Cannon Mills for 50 years and later worked for Gary's Bar BQ. Mr. Bass was a member of Archdale United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his first wife Hester Teal Bass after 44 years of marriage, two sisters Pearl Fulcher and Velma Bass and seven brothers, Wade Bass, Bill Bass, Horace Bass, Dan Bass, Wilbur Bass, David Bass and Charles Bass, Jr.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife of 22 years Margaret Bass, two daughters, Evelyn Sings and husband Maynard, Sylvia Ritchie and husband Gary and one son Don Bass and wife Candy. He is also survived by a step daughter Keana Jarrell, and stepsons Randy Jarrell and Brent Jarrell and wife Deneen, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Bass will be held 11 am Saturday at Archdale United Methodist Church with the Reverend Stuart Noell officiating. The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Graveside services will be held with military honors at 3:30 pm in Kannapolis at Carolina Memorial Park.
