Carrie E. Chaplin, 103, of Clendenin passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 in CAMC Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker, attended several different churches over the years, enjoyed singing and even taught herself how to the play the piano.
Carrie is preceded in death by her husband, James Ward Chaplin; parents, Jerry Morrison Oliver and Rosalena Boley Oliver; son, John Charles Chaplin; daughter, Kathern Roslena Chaplin Given; brothers, Noah E., Edward F., Glen W., Clyde B. "Pete", Jerry E., Willis R. Oliver; sisters, Cora E. Oliver Ross, Virginia A. Oliver Young, Eunice K. Oliver Lusk, Ruth P. Wiltsie.

Sons James Wells Chaplin, Paul Morgan Chaplin, Willis Richard Chaplin,
Clair Eugene Chaplin
Daughters Carrie Marie Chaplin Young Digman, Velma Mae Chaplin Riggs, Clara Ann Chaplin Detamore, Ethel Louise Chaplin
She is also survived by six generations of family including grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren numbering over two hundred decedents.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Oliver Cemetery, Clendenin.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at the funeral home.
