George Thomas Blevins, 90, son of the late Rubin Blevins and Susan Lile Blevins died at 7 am Fri. 11 Nov [1983] at the Caverna Hospital in Hart Co.
He was a member of the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the time of his death. He was a veteran of WWI, a member of the Center Masonic Lodge #320, a member of the American Legion and a Ky. Colonel.
He united in marriage to Verna Lee Kidd on 4 Jan 1936, who preceded him in death on 19 Feb 1974. To this union was born 3 sons: Paul, Dean and Tommy Blevins, all of Center, Ky. Blevins is also survived by 2 sisters, Betty Cook and Minnie Atwell, both of Center 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm 13 Nov at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cem. The Rev. Luther Turner officiated. Masonic rites were also conducted. Pallbearers were: Wayne Pruitt, Maxie McKinney, Albert Mouser, Veachel Lile, Noah Arnett and Ronnie Houk, Honorary pallbearers were: Walter McGlasson, Earl McGlasson, Edward Scott, Marvin Robertson, Dennis Mills and Paul Jolley.
